NEW R&D CENTER OPENS - February 20, 2006
La Crosse, WI February 20, 2006 Main Street Ingredients, a manufacturer and supplier of innovative functional ingredients to the dairy, nutritional and food processing industries, is pleased to announce the opening of a new Research & Development Center.
The newly constructed R&D Center is located in part of a new 40,000 square foot addition to the manufacturing facility. “This investment in the R&D Center shows our commitment to innovation,” says Bill Schmitz, president. “From functional beverages to indulgent yet healthier ice creams, our technical team is dedicated to provide our customers with the latest nutrition research, current consumer trends, and new product development.”
In addition, Main Street Ingredients has invested in a pilot scale, state-of-the-art continuous ice cream freezer. This equipment has the technology to create innovative ‘churned-type’ ice cream products. As a result, Main Street will be able to design functional ingredient systems to maximize the benefits of this processing technique for frozen desserts and ice cream.
“This advanced technology complements our experienced team of food scientists,” adds Schmitz, “and is an excellent extension to our current pilot plant capabilities.”
